About the St Andrew’s International School PTA

Welcome to the St Andrew’s International School Parent Teacher Association (PTA). We believe that a strong, connected community is the foundation of a successful educational experience. Our PTA serves as a vital bridge between home and school, ensuring that parents, guardians, and faculty work hand-in-hand for the ultimate benefit of our students.

Our Mission and Purpose

The mission of the St Andrew’s PTA is to provide steadfast support and essential services to our school. We achieve this by coordinating activities and functions that foster goodwill and social interaction among all members of the school community and the community at large.

Specifically, the PTA is dedicated to:

  • Providing service and support to the school community.
  • Facilitating communication and information exchange between parents, teachers, and school administration.
  • Promoting social interaction through organized functions that bring us all together.

Membership and Participation

By design, all parents, guardians, and faculty of St Andrew’s School are members of the PTA. Every member possesses the right to voice their thoughts, share opinions, and participate in our collective efforts.

For those looking to take a more active role, we offer two primary levels of involvement:

  • The General PTA Committee: This group is open to anyone with an interest in volunteering for events and projects. There is no limit to the number of members, and we encourage everyone to join.
  • The PTA Executive Board: Comprising up to ten dedicated volunteers, including officers and faculty representatives, this board manages the primary operations and strategic vision of the PTA.

Leadership and Governance

The PTA Executive Board is led by the President and Vice President, who serve as the primary representatives of the association. Other key officers include the Secretary, Treasurer, Past President, and Class Parent Coordinator. To ensure transparency and accountability, all activities are carried out in consultation with the Principal (Head of School), and any changes to our constitution require approval from the School’s Board of Directors.

Annual Activities and Impact

The PTA remains active throughout the year through a variety of initiatives aimed at building spirit and raising funds for school improvements. Our annual calendar often includes:

  • Social Events: Winter/Spring Fairs, Christmas Luncheons, and Bake Sales.
  • School Support: Coordination of the Class Parent System and the Welcome Committee for new families.
  • Fundraising: This includes the organization of annual School Photographs and other community-wide fundraisers.

Funds generated by these activities are given back to the school either as general donations to support daily needs or as specific project donations for capital improvements.
