Activity & Athletics

As the home of the Hurricanes, we believe that a well-rounded education extends beyond the classroom. Our Activity & Athletics program is designed to encourage students to lead active, healthy lifestyles while developing teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills. With our world-class facilities, dedicated coaching staff, and diverse range of activities, we provide students with the opportunity to engage in sports, outdoor pursuits, and co-curricular activities that challenge them physically and mentally.
Beyond the Classroom

A Balanced Approach to Physical Education

From the early years through to graduation, students at St. Andrew’s benefit from a comprehensive physical education curriculum that promotes movement, skill development, and an understanding of fitness and well-being. Our program incorporates:

  • Fundamental motor skills for younger students, building agility, coordination, and strength.
  • Sports-specific training for older students, refining technical skills and strategic play.
  • Personal fitness programs that encourage lifelong healthy habits.

Competitive Athletics: Pursuing Excellence

For students with a passion for competitive sports, St. Andrew’s offers an extensive interscholastic athletics program, competing in both local and international tournaments. We are proud members of the Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools (BAISS) and participate in championships across a variety of disciplines.

Our competitive sports teams include:

  • Swimming – Training in our state-of-the-art pool, with opportunities to compete in national and regional competitions.
  • Soccer – Boys’ and girls’ teams competing and succeeding at all levels.
  • Basketball – A strong tradition of excellence in local competitions.
  • Track & Field – A dynamic program which has produced Olympian athletes.
  • Baseball & Softball – Boys & Girls teams compete in inter-schol competition on our superb range of on-campus pitches.
  • Volleyball – Developing technical skills and teamwork through competitive play and inter-school competition.
  • Golf – Personalized coaching opportunities on our in-house golf facility to help athletes refine their game.

With experienced coaches guiding our student-athletes, we foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth, helping students push their limits while embracing the values of fair play.


Recreational & Enrichment Activities

In addition to competitive sports, we offer a wide range of recreational activities to ensure every student finds something they enjoy. From pickleball and ultimate frisbee to water polo and and gymnastics, our program caters to all interests and skill levels.

  • Multi-sport fields for soccer, softball, baseball and athletics.
  • A state of the art swimming pool.
  • Basketball courts in both our Primary and Secondary schools
