Hurricane Hub Library

Welcome to the St Andrew’s Hurricane Hub Library.
Beyond the Classroom

Welcome to the Hurricane Hub Library, the heart of our learning community!

At the Hurricane Hub, our St Andrew’s Library, we promote and encourage wide-ranging literacy skills that support all programmes while fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and information literacy across all subject areas, and many extracurricular activities. Our goal is for all St Andrew’s students to become lifelong learners and confident, ethical seekers of information.

The Hurricane Hub is a welcoming environment where students are encouraged to flourish. Our aim is to equip learners with the skills needed to conduct research inquiries efficiently, confidently, and with integrity. Classes use the library for inquiry-based learning, developing research skills, and selecting books for independent reading. Along with our print resources, we provide access to digital databases through Destiny, our online library catalogue.

In addition to building strong literacy foundations, we value and promote a love of reading by offering a diverse and inclusive collection of books that reflects multiple cultures, perspectives, and voices. Students are given time and choice to read for both enjoyment and learning, encouraging curiosity and a lifelong appreciation for literature of all kinds.

We warmly welcome our families and the wider community to enjoy our facilities and resources. Volunteers are always appreciated and may support our programmes by helping to maintain the library collection or creating engaging displays that inspire inquiry and reading. Please contact the librarians with any questions or if interested in supporting the library.  Families are encouraged to use the online catalogue to search for books and explore our recommended reading lists with their children, strengthening the partnership between home, school, and community.

The library is open from 8:00am – 5:30pm,  Monday to Friday
