Pastoral Care

We are committed to providing a caring approach to student wellbeing through a variety of support services. Every student receives the emotional, social, and academic support needed for success in school and beyond. Through both formal programmes and day-to-day interactions, our school nurse and counsellors, along with our entire team of teachers and staff, act with kindness as listeners, carers and role models.
Health & Wellbeing

Our pastoral framework reflects our commitment to the IB Learner Profile, safeguarding best practice, and the development of confident, resilient young people who are prepared for life beyond school.

A Whole-School Approach

Every student is known and supported by a network of adults who work closely together. Classroom teachers, learning advisors, counsellors, the school nurse, and senior leaders collaborate to ensure students receive consistent emotional, social, and academic support.

Pastoral care is woven into:

  • Daily interactions in classrooms and walkways
  • Advisory time
  • Assemblies and wellbeing programmes
  • Outdoor learning, service learning, and expeditions
  • House activities and leadership opportunities

This ensures students experience care as part of the culture—not only when difficulties arise.

Wellbeing, Guidance, and Emotional Support

Students have access to trained, experienced professionals who provide confidential and age-appropriate support. Our school counsellor supports students with emotional wellbeing, social development, stress management, and transition points such as moving between school sections or preparing for post-secondary pathways.

The school nurse plays a central role in supporting physical health, managing medical needs, and promoting healthy habits across the school community.

Where appropriate, the school works in partnership with families and external specialists to ensure continuity of care.

Respect, empathy, and inclusion are reinforced through curriculum, dialogue, and daily expectations—helping students build positive relationships and global awareness.
