Here at St Andrew’s School we are passionate about inclusion and aim to provide equal opportunities for all.
“Inclusion is an ongoing process that aims to increase access and engagement in learning for all students by identifying and removing barriers.”
(Learning Diversity in the International Baccalaureate Programmes).
Our Learning Support Programme is designed to meet diverse learning needs across the school. We offer in-class and one-on-one assistance for students with diagnosed needs, tailoring lessons to suit each particular student’s aptitudes. At St Andrew’s, we work closely with parents and differentiate for individual needs while setting high standards, believing every student can reach their personal goals
Teachers provide a high level of differentiation within all classroom settings. At St Andrew’s we not only differentiate for all individual needs but we also set extremely high standards for all of our students, with the belief that any student has the ability to achieve their personal goals.
A Commitment to Inclusive Education

At St. Andrew’s, inclusion is a core value embedded in our teaching and learning practices. “Inclusion is an ongoing process that aims to increase access and engagement in learning for all students by identifying and removing barriers.” (Learning Diversity in the International Baccalaureate Programmes).
We recognize that all students learn differently, so our lessons are carefully planned to support diverse learning styles. Our team works closely with teachers, students, and parents to ensure that each child has access to a personalized, high-quality education that meets their unique needs.
Three-Tiered Support System
Our Learning Support Programme follows a three-tiered model, ensuring that students receive the appropriate level of assistance:
Tier 1: Mild Learning Support
- Regular classroom differentiation to meet diverse learning needs.
- One hour of targeted learning support per week.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with classroom accommodations and learning strategies.
- Teacher consultations to ensure effective in-class support.
Tier 2: Moderate Learning Support
- More structured support, with three hours of learning intervention per week.
- Curriculum modifications and alternative pathways where needed.
- Specialist lessons in areas such as social skills and executive functioning.
- Additional testing and exam accommodations, based on psychoeducational evaluations.
Tier 3: Intensive Learning Support
- Five to six hours of direct learning support per week.
- More significant modifications to curriculum and instructional methods.
- Daily teacher consultations to ensure continuous support.
- Close collaboration with specialists to address specific learning and behavioral needs.
Each tier is reviewed annually, ensuring that students receive the right level of support as they grow and progress.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Students receiving Tier 1-3 support will have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This document outlines:
- Student strengths and challenges
- Personalized learning goals
- Accommodations and modifications
- Recommended teaching strategies
IEPs are reviewed twice a year, with input from teachers, parents, and learning support specialists to ensure they remain effective.
