Earlier this year, our compassionate Grade 12 Taino students took the initiative to have a meaningful impact beyond the classroom. In partnership with our school’s service-learning program, they organised a donation drive to collect snacks and lunch bag items for The Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel on McKinney Drive.
From Jell-O Pots to and fruit snacks to cases of water and Capri-Sun, our Grade 12 Taino students rallied our community to gather a generous assortment of nutritious and comforting treats. Their goal? To bring a little joy and practical support to children living away from home.
After a month of collections, the St Andrew’s community’s efforts ensured that the donation exceeded the target amount of food items and was delivered just in time for mid-term break.
We are so proud of our seniors for leading with heart and serving their community in such a thoughtful way.
